The statistics is published annually from 2016 onwards. At that time, the production of the statistics was renewed in parallel with the reform of the Fisheries Act when joining to the register of commercial fishers was made mandatory for everyone who intended to fish commercially.
The statistics of professional fishing was published every two years (even years) from 1998 to 2014.
- = due to protection of the privacy of data providers, the catch of Uusimaa in 2002-2006 has been combined with the catch of Southwest Finland, the catch of Uusimaa in 2008-2012 has been combined with the catch of Häme, and since 2014 the catch of Uusimaa has been combined with the catch of Southwest Finland. The catch area refers to the division of fishing units in the ELY centers valid until 2014.
The value of the catch was calculated on the basis of the species-specific average prices (VAT 0) reported by the respondents.
European river lamprey is included in the catch of other species and the total catch of all species.
