principal site class

Forestry land is classified as peatland if it has a peat layer or if the coverage of peat-forming plants is more than 75%. There is no minimum thickness requirement for a peat layer.

NFI 12/13 (2018-2022)

The results for whole country, Southern - and Northern Finland are calculated using the measurements of NFI13 during the years 2019-2022. The region of Åland measured in 2018.

No NFI12 measurements in Enontekiö, Inari and Utsjoki region. Results are based on NFI11.
