The information is based on the statistics on research and development, compiled by Statistics Finland. The data on annual turnover in the forest industry originate from the structural business and financial statement statistics.
Research and development (R&D) refers to systematic work undertaken to increase the stock of knowledge and the use of that knowledge to devise new applications. R&D expenditure includes labour costs, purchased services, other operational costs, and investment and acquisition costs. The statistics deal with domestic R&D activities only.
