Factor income is calculated by deducting intermediate consumption, the consumption of fixed assets and product taxes from total agricultural income at basic prices and by adding other production subsidies. The resulting figure is divided by the total annual work unit in agriculture. Factor income represents the amount of compensation received for the average annual work unit and corresponding capital.
Indicator B: Index of real net agricultural entrepreneurial income per unpaid annual work unit: Salaries and interest paid and rents paid for the use of fixed assets (in practice, rent for land in Finland) are deducted from factor income. The resulting figure is divided by the amount of unpaid agricultural workforce (the number of entrepreneurs). Therefore, entrepreneurial income represents the salary received by the entrepreneur and interest on equity.
Indicator C: Net entrepreneurial income of agriculture: This differs from indicator B above in that the aforementioned entrepreneurial income is not divided by the number of agricultural entrepreneurs. Annual entrepreneurial income is calculated at a fixed price, i.e. it represents changes in total entrepreneurial income.
