Fishing effort = Gear day, i.e. when one gear is in use one day (or less), it is one gear day.

Information

The fishing data for 1988–1997 contain missing information on both the number of fishing days and the number of fishing gear. The missing information has been imputed when calculating the fishing effort, which reduces the accuracy of the statistical estimate.
