Full-time (%)

Work in agriculture and horticulture is deemed to constitute full-time employment if the number of hours a person works in agriculture and horticulture accounts for more than half of his or her total hours worked.

When comparison is made with the results of the Agricultural Census 2010, it should be noted that temporary labour is not included in the labour headcount of the Agricultural Census 2010.

Farmers and joint owners

Farmers and shareholders of enterprises who have participated in agricultural and horticultural work on their farm/in their enterprise. Since 2020, this has included all holders (owners) who have worked in agriculture and horticulture on their farm. In 2013 and 2016, this category only included one farmer per family-owned farm, while other holders (owners) were listed under “Family members”.

Family members

Spouses and other close relatives of at least 15 years of age who have participated on agricultural and horticultural work on their farm. Since 2020, all holders (owners) who have worked in agriculture and horticulture on their farm have been included in the category “Farmers and joint owners”.

Incl. manager of the farm.

Temporary labour force

When comparison is made with the results of the Agricultural Census 2010, it should be noted that temporary labour is not included in the labour headcount of the Agricultural Census 2010.

Foreign labour force

Foreign nationals hired as agricultural and horticultural farm labour (regular, short-term and holiday relief staff). Regular foreign workers are also included in the total regular labour force.
